Radical Queer Friendship

Queer friendship is often much more than companionship. For many queer, trans, and non-binary people, friendships and chosen families provide care, support, belonging, and resilience in everyday life.

This workshop invites participants to reflect on their own experiences of queer friendship, community, and care. Together, we will explore how friendships are formed and sustained, what role online and offline networks play in our lives, and how practices of mutual support shape our sense of belonging and wellbeing.

Through storytelling, discussion, and collective reflection, participants will share experiences, exchange perspectives, and explore different ways of building meaningful connections. We will also consider how queer friendships and care networks can challenge dominant ideas about relationships, family, and community.

By centering lived experiences, the workshop creates space to think about friendship not only as a personal bond, but as a collective practice of care, solidarity, and mutual support.

Open to queer, trans, non-binary, and allied participants interested in community-building, care networks, and alternative ways of relating.

Hosted by Prof. Dr. Phil.
