Queer people make no apologies for the spaces we need to live, connect, and thrive -- and this workshop is all about queer spaces! Join us in talking about spaces that have meaning to us and our communities in Malmö -- and even those we still dream about! -- as we counter-map the city together. We begin by learning about counter-mapping and the kinds of maps we can make "from below," when the tools of mapping are in the hands of the people and not only the powerful. We will then make our own queer maps of the city, identifying places important to ourselves and our communities, highlighting important sites of queer history, and even imagining queer spaces yet to exist. As we share our maps, we will discuss the importance of queer spaces and the urgency of protecting them, without apologies, especially in these times. Finally, we will use our maps to create a large, collective map that will stand in Pride House throughout the 2026 festival and continue to invite contributions from the community.
